1) Pack your lunch! Bring a soft cooler with you everywhere you go. Have lots of balanced snacks and at least meal. Fruit, nuts, homemade trail mix, canned tuna, and so much more can be easily carried on the go!

2) Make extra for supper. I get so many emails about not having time to make lunch resulting in fast food. There is no excuse here. Make extra chicken for supper to set aside for tomorrow’s lunch. Put it on top of a salad, add some nuts with fruit on the side and you have a perfect complete lunch.

3) Protein bars…Many people turn to protein bars for a quick fix. Many of these bars contain more sugar than a chocolate bar and contain chemicals and additives in great amounts. Two bars that we recommend are Lara Bars and Raw Food Bars. Both are many of all natural ingredients and are a great snack on the go.

4) Exercise bands. These are wonderful! These can be packed and taken anywhere. You can workout in a hotel room or use them in your workouts outside. They are inexpensive and an amazing tool. Spend the few dollars extra on the bands with handles.

5) A Family Affair. As you’re changing your habits and losing weight it is important to involve your whole family. Stop bringing junk into your home for others. Your children or husband may not be gaining weight from the junk but it is doing nothing beneficial for their health. Teach them the healthy habits before it becomes a problem. There are many ways to make their favorite treats healthy.

6) Have a saying…Find a quote or a motivating statement that you can say to yourself when you start your day or when you are feeling weak. It can be as simple as “I can do this” to the famous Nike slogan I often say to myself “Impossible is Nothing.”

7) Have a visual…Hang a ‘goal’ bikini or dress somewhere you can see it everyday. Ex. on the outside of a closet door so you can see it each morning when you wake up. It’s all about keeping yourself accountable and focused on your goal.

8) Vision Board. This is an old stand-by tool that works! Fill your board with pictures that bring you pleasure. Girlfriends laughing a woman going for a jog, clothes you enjoy, travel pictures, or healthy produce. Build a visual of the life you are creating for yourself.

9) Apple Cider Vinegar. Having a shot of Apple Cider Vinegar everyday has been shown to lower cholesterol and break down brown fat. The studies have only been done on Braggs Apple Cider Vinegar so make sure to get this brand! Make sure to have a water chaser. It’s some strong stuff!

10) Get Outside! With the warm weather there is no reason not to take your workouts outside. Outdoor workouts provide you with fresh air, essential vitamin D, and workouts that keep you interested. I find my outdoor workouts to be over before I know it!

11) New Kicks! Having a quality pair of sneakers is essential if you are starting a workout program. Our feet take the most impact of our entire body and need to be looked after! Without proper foot support problems can start at the feet and radiate up the body.

12) Have a cute workout outfit! Lets face it, it feels good to look good! I love rewarding myself with a great workout outfit, one that breathes and looks great!

13) Talk to others…Discuss your healthy lifestyle with others that are embarking on the same journey! Finding other positive individuals changing their lifestyle can make you feel part of a community. It feels great to talk about our new interests with others who are excited as well.

14) Everyone feels safe with a plan. If you are ready to make a change and want a solid plan seek someone that can assist you. You need to find someone that not only has the credentials but makes you feel comfortable and is compassionate to your needs.

15) Meditation and alone time…Meditation is simply spending quiet time away from all distractions and just breathing. Of course, I could go into much more detail but if you are just starting this is as simple as it needs to be! Everyday find at least 10 minutes to be completely alone and let your thoughts go. Just shut your eyes, sit or lay in a comfortable position, and just concentrate on your breath. It makes you feel centered and at peace. This is a great way to start or finish your day!

I hope enjoy these tips! Let me know if there is anything I can help you with!
