Thank you tone it up! Here is a way to make your own Lara bars!!!!

Lara Bars are an approved snack for everyone unless we have discussed otherwise. These are great recipes on how to make your own. If not, they can be found in your whole foods section of your grocery store. There are so many yummy flavours to choose from! I’m in love with the Key Lime Pie!

CHERRY BARS:

1/4 cup chopped dates (roughly chopped whole dates, not pre-chopped)
1/4 cup dried cherries or dried cranberries
1/3 cup whole pecans, almonds or walnuts
1/8 teaspoon cinnamon

Place the dates and cherries in a food processor or blender. Blend until until it becomes like a paste. Transfer ingredients to a medium bowl.

Add the nuts to the processor and pulse until finely chopped. Add the nuts, along with the cinnamon, to the bowl with the fruit paste. Use your fingers to knead the nuts into the paste. Next you can spread the paste out in a pan and cut or squish into bar shape form and wrap in plastic to store.

**For the recipes below, follow the same instructions as above, but substitute the different ingredients.

BLUEBERRY BLISS BARS:

1/4 cup dried blueberries 1/4 cup dates

1/3 cup almonds

1/2 teaspoon finely grated lemon zest

drop of almond extract to the mix

CASHEW COOKIE:

1/3 cup dates for the fruit

1/2 cup raw cashews for the nuts.

PB & J SANDWHICH BAR:

1/4 cup dried cherries or cranberries

1/4 cup raisins or dates; use

1/2 cup raw or roasted peanuts (lightly salted or unsalted)
