What to Eat for Breakfast – Eating Breakfast Made Easy

Protein PancakeToday we learn about what to eat for breakfast to stay healthy! Since you were a kid you have been told that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. It is still true!

Breakfast is when we jump-start our metabolism for the day. It is essential in keeping our body burning and provides us with the energy we need for the day.

The Complete Breakfast Meal

When thinking about what to eat for breakfast you need to make sure you don’t forget about including a healthy protein source such as egg whites and a healthy carbohydrate such as steel-cut oatmeal. The protein source provides much needed nutrients for all the systems of the body. The carbohydrate source provides your immediate energy for the day! Don’t leave it out!

To get the most out of your breakfast you should also add fresh berries (for their anti-oxidant activity) and ground flax seed (for it’s digestive help and anti-inflammatory properties – more to come). To make sure you get the most healthy benefits from your flax you should be grinding it on your own just before you eat it or grinding it, sealing it in a container and placing in the freezer.

Flax should be one of your first thoughts when deciding what to eat for breakfast because of its numerous health benefits. It has been shown to be beneficial for all of the following:

  • Lowering Cholesterol
  • Lowering Blood Sugar
  • Fighting Cancer
  • Constipation
  • Inflammation
  • Menopause
  • Fighting Heart Disease
  • Improving Immune Function
  • Weight Loss
