A Family Affair

Amy Layne training David DuizerToday is Day 20 and it may be your most important day! Lets get your family involved in this journey! As you’re changing your habits and losing weight it is important to involve your whole family. Stop bringing junk into your home for others. Your children or husband may not be gaining weight from the junk but it is doing nothing beneficial for their health. Teach them healthy habits before it becomes a problem.

There are many ways to make their favorite treats healthy. The DAMY Health Blog is loaded with healthy versions of your favorite treats!

The best gift anyone could pass on to another would be the gift of health and wellness! Involving your family in your lifestyle changes is very important for you and also for them. Continuing to buy unhealthy food for others in your household is doing nothing beneficial for anyone. Having junk in your home makes it more likely that you will give-in to temptation.

I know for myself a big turning point in the change in my lifestlye was when I physically removed all ‘trigger foods’ from my home. I sat down and had an honest conversation with my husband, I let him know my goals and why I had to temporarily remove these food items from my house. I was shocked at how supportive and helpful my husband ended up being. Clearly communicating to your children and your husband is one of the best things you can do for yourself.

These food items do not need to be removed forever. They just need to be removed until you have full control and no longer have the urge to binge or snack.

While on your 31 Day journey you should have more energy, a healthy glow, be looking better than ever, a higher confidence, and a higher libido. Who wouldn’t want their partner to experience all the same? Working out and feeling successful at sticking to a clean eating lifestyle is fun to experience with your partner.

It is exciting to see each other improve and accomplish your goals.

  • Take your partner on a nature hike.
  • Try a new indoor walking trail.
  • Cook healthy meals together.
  • Do your interval training together.

Supporting and encouraging each other will make your relationship grow in new territory.

Think of the jumpstart your children will have if you educate them now on the importance of preventative health. For young women, they won’t have to start when there is already a problem (irregular periods, blemished skin, severe mood swings, and weight gain). For young men, think of the advantages in their sports/academic lives. Both sexes will have better sleeping patterns, better attitudes, and be able to concentrate during school.

Tip of the Day
