Fat Burning – Natural Metabolism Boosting

Amy Layne training David DuizerBurning fat is one of the number one goals when adopting a healthy lifestyle. Today I want to show you how you can burn extra fat just by making one easy change to your routine. This lesson is important because it will boost your metabolism! Keeping your metabolism high makes fat burning much easier and improves your results. No, I’m not talking about using fat burners or any synthetic products. This tip doesn’t require you to take any crazy supplements or cause you any harm what-so-ever!

The only thing you need to use today’s tip to burn extra fat is some motivation, a bit of spare time, and a great work ethic! Check it out below.

Natural Fat Burning – Two a Day Workouts

For today’s tip I want you to split your weights and cardio workouts into 1 morning workout and 1 evening workout. This can be difficult depending on your amount of free time but in the long run can be extremely beneficial for weight-loss. I recommend doing 30 minutes of cardio in the morning and 30 minutes of weights in the evening. This is so good for your body and will help you in keeping your metabolism high throughout the day.

This tip only applies to those who are doing cardio and weights within the same workout. For those of you who are only doing either cardio or weights each day try to follow the timelines provided. You will still benefit from this tip and you will still be able to increase your ability to burn fat.

Metabolism Boosting – Why Split Up My Workouts?

Burning Fat – Burn the Right Stuff

Doing your cardio first thing in the morning allows you to tap into the proper fuel source – Fat. Our body loves to burn carbohydrates first which means body fat is always second. If we are low on carbohydrates our bodies will look to body fat for energy.

If you do cardio immediately after eating a meal, you’ll still burn fat, but you’ll burn less of it because you’ll be burning off the carbohydrates you ate first. You always burn a combination of fat and carbohydrate for fuel, but depending on when you exercise, you can burn a greater proportion of fat relative to carbohydrate.

Lifting weights is an anaerobic activity, which means it will deplete your muscles of carbohydrates (glycogen). If you do your lifting later in the day (afternoon or after supper) you will be in fat burning mode for the entire night and the next morning for your cardio session.

The ‘Afterburn’ Effect – Keeping Your Metabolism High

By accomplishing your 30 minutes of cardio first thing in the morning you set yourself up for an entire day of fat burning. An intense session of cardio can keep your metabolism elevated for hours after the session is over.

If you like to do your cardio in the evening you will still benefit from it as well as burn fat during the session. However, you will not be able to take advantage of the ‘Afterburn’ Effect because your metabolic rate slows while you sleep to a rate slower than any other time in the day.

Sleep is an amazing time to build muscle! Our bodies love to repair themselves while we sleep and this is why we recommend doing your weight lifting in the later part of the day. This gives your body a chance to do its work (repair) while you sleep!

Feel Like a Champ – Natural Workout Endorphins

Morning cardio is great for the mind and body. It provides you with those necessary endorphins that make you feel great! This feeling can sometimes last all day!

Getting your cardio out of the way first thing will give you a great sense of accomplishment and set your day off on a positive note. A task like cardio can hang over your head all day. Getting it done early in the morning will help you avoid the guilt, stress, and incompleteness that comes along with your procrastination!

The number one reason cardio doesn’t get done is that people leave it to the evening and they are too exhausted from their workday to do it. Get it done early and feel good about it!

Task for the Day

Today I want you to increase your fat burning and speed up your metabolism by spitting your workouts into a morning cardio session and an evening weights session. You will see the benefits in just one week! You will start losing weight quicker, you will have more energy throughout the day and you will become stronger, healthier and more confident.

Keep your sessions to 30 minutes in length and make sure to get great sleeps each night!
