As the end of summer approaches we’ve been trying to soak up as much outdoor fun as we can. See, last summer we were so busy that we barely had one day in the sun. This summer we decided to make some changes. We are just as busy as ever but decided to, no matter what, incorporate outdoor activity into our daily routine. One way we have been doing this is doing our daily cardio outside. We get up first thing in the morning and head outside. What we try to do is shake it up and go new places each time. One of my favorite hikes lately was Lighthouse Park in West Vancouver. Check it out – This was the view at one of the points.

Another thing we decided to do this summer is take the time to go camping. Last year we went camping once in September. We just did not get our fill! Camping for us is really enjoyable. It has three elements that we need to keep us balanced – nature, hikes, and no-technology! We literally hike, read, talk and go-with-the-flow for however many days we are camping. Check out this one dirty hiker and our morning view from our campsite:

The other morning David wanted a shake but also needed a little ‘wake up.’ I made this, what we now call – The Funky Monkey Shake. It was delicious and I had to share it with everyone. It’s a perfect way to get your java fix yet have a yummy satisfying shake! Here it is in all it’s deliciousness! Also check out how the glass reflection looks like a heart… I love that!
