So, my breakfast was served with a side-order of guilt this morning. My birthday is this week and these are the cards that were sent in the mail today by my nephews.
We live on the opposite side of the country and it is honestly the worst! How precious are these?
Yes, you did read that title right – this recipe is for Cookie Dough Hummus! If you follow my blog you know I have an obsession with chickpeas! It has evolved over the years but it is always present.
Here are some of my favourite chickpea recipes:
- Peanut Butter Coconut and Carrot Cake Squares (with cream cheese frosting)
- Healthy Chocolate Fudge Cookies (gluten-free, flourless and high protein)
- Healthy Protein Cookies (plain, chocolate chip, thumb print, chocolate fudge and date-center)
- Candied Roasted Chickpeas (plus 8 more chickpea recipes)
This sweet dip came about along time ago when I was making the recipes above. The batter was just so delicious! This gave birth to the Cookie Dough Hummus!
This recipe is no-bake, vegan, gluten free and only takes 5 minutes to prepare.
Enjoy this recipe with fresh fruit slices, healthy crackers or as an icing for any of our cookies or squares featured above. OR – you could always wait until tomorrow and use this to frost your Chocolate Quinoa Brownies! Here’s a sneak peak of those:
Note – This cookie dough hummus recipe can also be added to our awesome Super Bowl Recipe Post here.

What beautiful recipes!!!! Love them. Â Do you do your own photography or hire a professional to do it? Â What camera are they using?????
I love Katie’s recipes too! Â I’ve tried this one and didn’t love the texture though. Â I think I just need to process it more. Â
I’ve been lusting over this recipe! If we omit agave and use Stevia instead and leave out the chocolate chips can we eat this and stay on plan? Â
Hey Hilary! Send the link to this recipe, the program you are on, the week of the program and your question to your check in email address and it will be answered for you. Have a great day
I loved these! I omitted the Stevia, and it was still sweet enough for me! Very difficult to maintain portion control, but it keeps my cravings in check.Â
That is great!Â
I just made this and am eating it as I type. This was amazing! Who would have thought there was a way to make chick peas into cookie dough! Thank you!!

Can you use peanut butter in place of the cashew butter? Â I don’t keep that on hand.
Yes!! You sure can!!Â
Is there any substitute for the cashew butter.. sounds great but i live in the sticks and not sure where to find that at! 🙂
I love the “I live in the sticks” lol too funny! You can use any natural nut butter. I love this recipe with natural peanut butter!! Enjoy 🙂Â
Can’t wait to try this!!! I have a gluten intolerance and I LOVE choc chip cookie dough!!!! I’ve been missing it :-/
Isn’t this Chocolate-Covered Katie’s recipe that went viral on Pinterest? Â Since it’s almost identical down to the baking soda, it would be nice to give credit to an idea taken from another site. Â You’d want others to do the same with your ideas I’m sure.Â
What is the purpose of the baking soda?
Yes, please answer this Amy…. What is the purpose of the baking soda?
Hey Ladies! Sorry I just saw this! The baking soda makes the dip spread more smoothly and prevents it from cracking. So really…it makes it look more pretty 🙂
Just tried this and it is delicious!!
Awesome to hear 🙂
Any suggestions what you would eat with this?
Fruit or to use an en icing on the DAMY quinoa brownies, chickpea cookies, etc
Hi! Very excited to have found your website and to try this recipe!!! Could you tell me how many servings this recipe calls for????
Hey there! This is a dip or icing so it varies. DAMY Health Members use 1/3 cup with fruit or ect.
your recipe is very good but why do we need put baking soda?…….
your recipe is very good but why do we need put baking soda?…….
You so not have to if you wish not to. It just has a better “look” (more smooth, lets cracks) when you use it
The source where Damy stole this recipe from lists why she uses baking soda. Damy doesn’t know because it isn’t her recipe. http://chocolatecoveredkatie.com/2011/05/23/want-to-eat-an-entire-bowl-of-cookie-dough/
Can I use coconut butter instead of nut butter? Thanks!!
Yes!
Just wondering about how many calories you think would be in 1/3 of a cup? This looks so good!
Delish, can you freeze and make it into ice cream?

Just thought you should be made aware that pretty much everyone knows you stole the cookie dough recipe from Chocolate Covered Katie. It’s pretty embarrassing. At the Healthy Living Summit, they used it during the main presentation as an example of what not to do! I thought you should know because I think what you did is disgusting. I used to like this blog until I found out.
